Go to Shawnee Mission Park.
Find shelter 7. It's on the northeast corner of the lake.
From shelter 7, head west along the road until you get to the edge of the dam. Take the paved path west. Pass the boy scout camp turnoff and get to a fork. Turn right.
Go over an older bridge.
Get to a fork with an information sign. Turn left.
Go over another bridge. You'll pass the 7.5 mile marker. At the end of this clearing, you'll make a sharp left then right as you go through a small stand of trees.
After you clear the trees, you'll see a bench ahead on the right, near a two-trunked tree. Head to it.
From the bench, follow the path into the woods (south). 35 footfalls down the path will bring you to a four-trunked tree that you can step through. The box is behind the north-east trunk, hidden at the base.
