(7/10/2005: More mystery...as in what happened to this box? Apparently it's gone now.)

The mystery of this one is finding the town in Kansas where the box is hidden and the special bridge rests. This town was established 150 years ago, and in 1859 the Kansas Republican Party was organized here. The namesake of this town's gridiron took the local team to the top before he had starred in the Little Apple or the Frozen Tundra.

Once you know where to start, this one is pretty straightforward...

Exit the highway and go West on Main Street.

Take Main Street West through downtown while you admire the streetlamps. Turn right when you see the concrete street post for 8th Street.

Drive a short ways on 8th Street and you will cross a bridge that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1930 from a Marsh Art design.

Drive across and immediately turn left into the parking lot where you can get a better view of this striking structure.

Drive straight to the back of the parking lot and park.

You'll see a metal guardrail on your right. The box is hidden under a rock at the base of the second post from the back.
