Leprechaun Letterbox
Irish Series #1
The Leprechaun is the first of the Irish Letterbox series. More Irish themed Letterboxes will follow in the near future.
According to legend, Leprechaun’s are the self-appointed guardians of ancient treasure. He must give up his gold to the mortal who catches him. You will have to step lively and think quickly to capture a Leprechaun.
The Leprechaun Letterbox starts out behind International Package Store in Colchester. Parking is available in back of the store.
Directions:
From Rt. 2 East - take exit 17...left at stop sign...yield to the right...your on main St. in Colchester...go past Toyota dealership on left...take a left at the light right before the green (Starbucks and Brooks will be on your right at the light) continue down the hill and before the fork in the road International Package Store is on your left...park in back.
From Rt. 2 West - take exit 21...left at end of ramp...past Ford dealership on right...take right onto Elm street after Ford dealership...left at stop sign...down the hill...straight at next stop sign and International Package Store is immediately on your right...park in back.
Begin by walking back toward gravel path. Go through gate and pass by a yellow fire hydrant on the left. Continue your hike down the path. You will come to 4 short posts on your right (one is slightly bent). A little further down the trail you will pass telephone poll #2137. Not to far on the left is a fallen tree and some rocks on the ground. The Leprechaun hides amongst a group of rocks to the left of the fallen tree. Please make sure the box cannot be seen from the trail. Have fun!
