Warning: Watch out for errant golf balls. Fore! There weren't many golfers when we were out there.
My family lived here when my dad was stationed at Clinton-Sherman AFB so this place is dear to me. It's so empty now. When my brother went to high school, the students wanted to have a senior dance at graduation but the religion of the superintendent prohibited such things. So the students had the dance on the base and didn't invite the school board. Shades of Footloose.
Directions: From Interstate 40 take highway 44 south at exit 53 . After about seven miles pass by Sooner Drive on the right and then take the next right on road 1150 or Webb Street. Take a left at 2nd Street and drive south. When you see the golf course drive into the entrance and park along the road after passing by the green for the 18th hole off to the left. We parked by a wooden box on a pole off to the left. Keep an eye out for the crossing for golf carts across that pond just off to the north.
