Captain Stephen Onley Park
Located on Smithfield Road in North Providence

This series of boxes is dedicated to all the fun we have had in this park and will continue to have for many many years to come.

Clues:
-From the large blue sign for Captain Stephen Onley Park
-park in the lower lots
#1 Baseball Box
-proceed down 4 sets of stairs
-Follow the path down
-stand looking at home base of field A
-around the left side of the dugout's is where you should go
-walking that way...count 4 drain covers on left
-go 5 more steps forwards (past the covers) to a hill with a 2 trunk tree standing tall on top
-Home Run the ball got caught in the tree 3 1/2 feet high
#2 Kite Flying Box
-walk over to the blue and yellow concession stand
-order some food at the front window...
-now go around the red wall
-the kite has flown through the trees and the chain link fence
-at next fences turn right, I saw the kite land under the third large boulder
-there it is... tangled up under a square flat rock
#3 Bird Watching Box
-go back to those 4 sets of stairs
-instead of going up, take a left to follow the sound of some birds chirping nearby
-sit on the red guard rail and feed the birds breadcrumbs
-continue up the path
-we noticed a little bird laying peacefully on the ground... he had passed of old age
-so we put him to rest with all the others on the left
-notice one of the longer walls is different from all the rest... stay along the longer one that's the same as the other two
-the little bird has been put to rest behind the signpost in the top of the wall, under 2 very easily removable rocks
#4 Playground Box
-say hello to Captain Stephen Onley himself as you return to the paved path
-continue up the main paved path
-keep your eyes peeled for an unpaved path on the left and follow it into the woods...
-reach the top of the hill and notice the playground peeking through the trees to the right
-Soon notice 2 trees dancing (or hugging) together on left
-Around here find a naked tree. Box #4 is hidden there under its own bark...
#5 Basketball box
Can you hear them bouncing?
-head back down the path the way you came
-take a left onto the paved path
-come to 3 picnic tables on the right
-be a kid again and take a swing
**count the number of larger rocks along the walking path, remember how many you count for later use
**now go up to the blue and tan sign and remember the 2 separate numbers on the sign as well
-cross street to a yellow flower bush
-turn right and count *the number of rocks* in paces
-look left for stairs that lead no where
-behind them is a rock that a basketball would rest nicely on top of, here you will find #5
-#6 Tennis
-head towards the basketball courts, find the main path again
-keep tennis courts on your right
-arrive at the tennis court entrance
-keeping the fence on your right, take 11 paces along outside of fence
-look for a large flat rock in the woods
-tennis balls always end up in this area
-our ball is under the right side of the flat rock, next to the tree
#7 Soccer Box
-go back to the paved path and head for 3 red picnic tables
-take a left and go down the large hill
-find a somewhat flat rock to the right and take that path over the rocks and into the woods
-notice the ground soon becomes clear of rocks. As it starts getting rocky again, look to the right for a charred forest and a 2 trunk tree
-my daughter stashed her soccer ball here to play with another day
#8 River (Frog) Box
-continue on the rocky path away from the soccer field
-when u come to another path take a left
-follow the main path until come to a broken red bridge over a small stream
-there is a rock here... stand on the rock and turn 180 degrees then take 23 paces forward
-look to the right, we spotted a tree frog here 9 feet in and 2 feet up
#9 Sledding Box
-continue on the path in the direction you were heading towards the soccer field
-at the rocky path bare left and continue on the dirt path
-come to a place that looks familiar, take a left onto a new path
-about 30 steps down notice a rather interesting tree on the right, hear the water trickle on the left
-come upon a gazebo, stop and take a rest, stare out and up at a grassy hill where many come sledding in the winter
-walk up the grassy hill and spot the first telephone pole on the right
*add together the 2 numbers you took off the sign and then add 3 to that number, after that divide by 2* take this number in paces to something large on right
-hidden in the center is what you seek, i suggest taking out the entire branch with the box connected to it and replacing it the same way
#10 Hiking Box
-lets go for a short hike...
-continue walking up the grass hill for sledding
-imagine how slippery it would be when its covered in snow and ice
-there is a small red bench at the top if you need a break
-walk toward the gate leading to a road
-take the stairs down into the woods
-follow the path with the large boulder covered in ivy on its right
-keep on the path until you come to a path on the left that leads to a gazebo
-don't take that path, instead count 40 paces to some cool looking roots on left
-the hiker is resting inside these roots under a rock in the rear
#11 Gymnastics Box
-go back to where you found the path leading to the gazebo (now on your right) take that path to a bench
- looking at the backside of the bench, take a left up a paved path
-go all the way up this main path until you can see a water tower across the street
-leave the paved path and head in that direction with out leaving the park
-there are 2 stumps here on the left, the box is hidden inside the larger of the 2, in the rear
#12 Skateboarder Box
-think back... do you remember passing a fenced in tarred area? this is where the skate park use to be before they moved it to the other side of the park... (and then turned that second one into a parking lot)
-you hear skateboards speeding down the paved path
-head back to that large tarred area
-when you reach that area leave the paved path, keeping the fence on your right, walk to the 8Th fence post
-a skate boarder fell and scraped his knee, he is sitting at this post in a hollowed out cave, tending to his wound
#13 Take a Stroll
-take a left back onto the paved path heading towards your car
-stay on the main path until you come to 3 picnic tables on your right
-head to the left into a small grassy area
-now go into the woods a shorts ways to a very flat rock and another somewhat flat rock
-box #13 is hidden under one of its corners, between the 2 rocks
*this is the only box in the series with a log book

~~~~~~~~~~
*Park closes at dark
*Please re-hide ALL the boxes well as this is a very populated area, there's an ample supply of natural materials to use. Be stealthy while finding and replacing the boxes in their hiding places for there are wandering eyes everywhere.
*All boxes are micro boxes please bring ink.
*beware of poison ivy in some areas
Hope you had fun. And please let me know how my boxes are doing... Thank You.
