July 2012 - The box is MISSING.
We are very excited. This is our FIRST letterbox. It was drawn by my 10 year old daughter (Little Boo) and carved by her mom (Big Boo). Together we are Boo 2.
This box is hidden in Brookhaven Park in Cerritos.
Start at the Brookhaven Park concrete sign located near Vickie Ave.
Walk east toward the playground. Soon you'll reach a volleyball net (or at least the poles). Walk 2 paces (steps) past the pole and look up the embankment on the left. This is your ultimate destination.
Walk an additional 12 paces. Before reaching the water fountain or basketball court, there will be a dirt path on the left (north) leading up the embankment.
Walk up the dirt path. About 1/2 way up the hill, veer left in front of the group of bushes/shrubs. Go past the first bush. About 2 feet in front of the second push, in the ground under the leaves, you'll find the box. (Note: In our opinion, the bush looks like a "plant waterfall").
Please be careful to rebag the contents and return it safely to its hiding space.
