August, 2020... we have replaced the ink pad and will return soon to replace the missing pen.

August, 2019 ... this box is in fine shape and waiting to be found!

March, 2010. We have altered the clues to bring seekers to the box via a dryer route!

THIS BOX IS LOCATED IN THE GREAT WOODS OF MANSFIELD. Driving east on Rt 123 from Chartley to Norton, take a left onto Oak Street. After several miles, you will pass the Norton Country Club on your left. Further along, Oak Street takes a 90 degree left hand turn. Before this corner, turn right into the parking lot of The Great Woods. You can also enter Oak St from Elm Street in West Mansfield. To locate the house across the street from the parking lot, google-map on address 143 Oak Street, Mansfield, MA. [NOTE: mapquest is not accurate for this address].

With your back to Oak Street, walk to the right corner of the parking lot and enter the beaten path toward the woods, then turn right and zig-zag along the woods edge path until you reach the hedgerow. Turn left onto a wide path to enter the woods. This is the orange trail. The small pond on the right might be dry.

When this path forks, take the left fork. [NOTE: if you take the right fork, you will eventually approach the 12th hole of the TPC Golf Course on the Norton/Mansfield line, but will be refused entry during a tournament]. Traveling the left fork, continue your stroll on the wide path beneath the canopy of trees until it curves right and soon opens into the first field. Stay on the right side path. When it splits, turn right and pass through the rocky opening into a second field.

Follow the foot-tamped grassy path as it fades to the left toward the woods. Stay on the path, enter the woods and walk over the sunken remains of the rock wall. Ease right on the path and watch for a triple-trunk oak tree very quickly on your right. Make your way to the left side of this oak tree and climb over the rock wall. Facing the backside of the oak tree, you will find the “Go Green” box hidden behind a rock below a ledge in the rock wall at knee height. Please carefully re-hide the box after you've stamped the book and left a note that you visited!

To return to the parking lot, you can either backtrack on the orange trail through those same fields or take a left onto the red trail, which is very muddy in the spring months but will bring you to the opposite end of the parking lot.

Enjoy your walk!
