from ct route nine north or south take exit nine and at the end of the ramp take a left onto route eighty-one north follow eighty-one to higganum center before the traffic light take a left onto maple ave on the corner before the street you'll see apizza freso follow this road passing a cemetery on the left after said cemetery turn left onto hull av follow this road to the cul-du-sac park here at the end of the cul-du-sac there is a trail with a sign that reads 'area closes at sunse't take this trail pass a spur on the left then on the right continue under branches that reach over the trail pass through a small section of pine trees when coming to a fork take the right leg pass a large smooth boulder on the right soon after you will see a rotting log also on the right herein lies the letterbox if you have gone to far the trail will turn into a stream bed
