You need to start your search by entering Trap pond state parks main gate. You will veer of to your left and park in front of the playground. You need to walk to the ponds edge and look to your right. The trail you need will be off in that direction and follows along the ponds edge . You will come to a sign that says bay scapes and some native vegetation is growing off to your left sortly after that you will meet another path take it to your left. You will need to follow that until you reach the sign for the island trail, which you will follow. You will come to a big pine in the middle of the path, then you know your are right on tract. Keep going until you see a big stump in your path look to your left between to old logs you have found your way. Please recover with leaf debrea.
