Kansas seems to have an abundance of songbirds, probably thriving on all the mosquitoes, ticks, and grasshoppers that are also plentiful. We have added another little songbird for your enjoyment.
As you travel westward on I-70, stop at the rest area near mile marker 97. Stroll behind the building where you will see a red post. Walk north through the gap behind it, across a short field and to another red post. Look about two feet behind and to the left of the second red one. The cheerful chirper awaits you beneath the juniper.
