World War I has left golfer Rannulph Junuh (Matt Damon...yummy!) a poker-playing alcoholic, his perfect swing gone. Now, however, he needs to get it back to play in a tournament to save the financially ravaged golf course of a long-ago sweetheart (Charlize Theron). Help arrives in the form of a mysterious caddy Bagger Vance (Will Smith). Director Robert Redford's adaptation of Steven Pressfield's novel inclues Jack Lemmon's unbilled final performance. Some filming took place in Savannah and Jekyll Island.

Ok, there a a million more obvious plant locations for this golf-related box but I'm not a golfer. Instead, I chose to plant this box at one of my favorite places, Lake Mayer. Plus, there are 2 other boxes at this park!

Standing at the statue at the entrance of the park, take the walking trail counterclockwise (to the right for those directionally challenged). Enjoy the scenic beauty as you travel to the back right corner of the park. Here you will find a tall pine tree wrapped in glorious spanish moss. If you get to the "Step Up" fitness activity you have gone too far. You will find the Bagger Vance box at the base of the pine on the side away from the walking path. (Here's my pitiful connection to golf...NE of the tree (as the crow flies) is Bacon Park which is a public golf course and driving range.

Bagger Vance is the second box in a series of 10 that highlight movies filmed in the Savannah area. On the inside cover of the first 9 boxes you will find a clue to the location of the final Savannah movie box...Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil!
