Go to Hillmead Park. http://www.mcparkandplanning.org/parks/park_of_the_day/jun/parkday_jun4.shtm
Directions are available under "Lily of the Valley" or the park website.
Walk behind the tennis courts to where there is a green backboard. Walk straight down the hill along the stairs made out of roots or take the meandering path you can find on the side of the tennis courts. At the bottom of the path is a huge tree that looks like it was split in half by lightening. As you face the roots, look to the left side. There is a 10 foot section of tree cut out with a chain saw. There are many disks of wood cut from the tree. Do you know how to tell how old it is? Look under the disk of tree that is propped up by another log. Hide it well.
