About 3 miles after entering Alabama from the North, on I-65, you'll come upon the first Alabama rest area and welcoming center. Welcome to Alabama!! Pull in and park as close to the building as you can. Go inside and be welcomed, then freshen up in the restrooms. This is the side of the building you should leave from, the restroom side. You'll walk out onto a porch next to the snack area.
Take a walk down the closest sidewalk to the vending machines until you count two trees. Stop there and turn your back to the second tree. You'll be looking across the drive and you should notice a streetlight over there. Now, look to the left of the light, and you'll see a grey trunked tree about the same height as the light. In the bottom of the tree is a hole. Guess what? That's where "A TRACE" is waiting, but you have to reach way up into the tree to snag it off a small ledge.
This is a very busy rest stop and the box is in the thick of things, so use the utmost caution, please!
