Drive to Oak Grove:
From 384 East take exit 3 (Main St./Manchester).
At the end of the ramp take a right.
At first light take a right onto Charter Oak St.
Drive for 8/10 of a mile and take a left onto Autumn
Take an immediate right onto Oak Grove.
You will see Oak Grove Nature Center on your right pull in and park.
The Trail:
You will see the trail entrance on your left next to the big brown sign. You will be following the pond loop (blue blazes).
After a short walk the path splits, bear right and follow the stream. You will go up some steps and then take a right down some steps and over a covered bridge. After the bridge bear left and follow the water. You will go over a footbridge and a little later go over a five part footbridge over a small stream. Continue to follow the blue blazes. When you get to a three way fork (there will be a sign on a tree) go straigt following the pond loop. After you rejoin the lower trail you will see a log on the ground with a blue blaze. Soon you will come into a grove of pine trees. The trail will turn left towards the water and down. Look to your left. You will see the footbridge with handrails to your left. About 100 feet before the bridge you will see 2 uprooted pine trees on the ground next to a blue blaze on a standing pine. The letterbox is under the fallen trees.
After stamping re-place the box well hidden. Follow trail down over the footbridge, bear to the left and continue around the pond. Blue blazes will lead you back to your car.
Total Hike - 1 1/2 - 2 miles
This is a very pleasant hike. Enjoy.
