Bring a stamp pad.
Fort Clinch is located at the north end of Amelia Island, Florida's northernmost Atlantic Barrier Island. The address is 2601 Atlantic Ave., Fernandina Beach, FL. The park is located about 16 miles east of I-95. Take Exit 373 off I-95 and follow the signs. There is a park fee of $5 dollars. Park maps are available at the Ranger's station.

After entering the park drive north straight ahead beyond the fishing pier turn off, and continue north past the river camping area until you reach the parking lot for the fort. As you enter the main parking area you will turn left and continue to the far end of the parking lot past the restrooms and visitor center. In the northwest corner of the parking lot a gravel road exits the parking lot and continues to an area marked for fishing. Drive down this gravel road to the end and park. Follow the boardwalk that exits to your right. At the end of the boardwalk walk out on the sand flat and look right for 2 granite blocks. On the dune with the blocks will be a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers marker and several trees. Stand with your back to the trunk of the largest red cedar tree and the marker will be to your left. The fort will be to your right. As you look out toward the water, the dune where you stand has multiple trees and branches growing outwards from this dune, probe under these branches for a camouflaged painter container (in zip bag). Stamp in and replace when done. Read the waiver.
