Sleeping Giant Park
Land of Oz Adventure
This adventure begins in Munkinland, of course. After you find the Munchkinland letterbox you must travel to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard. The Wizard will send you on a mission to capture the magic golden cap of the Wicked Witch of the West.
This journey begins at the Chestnut Lane entrance and takes about 3 hours to get to the castle. You can find a much shorter route back to Chestnut Lane, the green trail.
The Munchkinland Letterbox
Begin at Chestnut Lane, start on the orange trail. Turn right onto the blue trail. You are now in Munchkinland! Turn right onto the green trail. Notice a stone wall on your left. Follow the stone wall until it crosses the white trail. The wall breaks where the white trail crosses it. Walk up the white trail, about 12 steps to the wall. On the right there is a tall tree with a white blaze on it. The Munchkinland letterbox is hidden in the stone wall on the right. Turn back to the green trail, the way you came. The green trail is now yellow! You are on your way to the Yellow Brick Road!
The Emerald City Letterbox
The Munchkins have sent you to meet the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. You must follow the road of yellow brick. Follow the yellow/green trail to the Yellow trail. This will be a long journey through thick wood. You will cross a wide stream and the red square trail. When you come to the red circle trail turn right. Begin the long climb to the Emerald City through intoxicating poppies. The trail edges a cliff with bubbling stream below. Find tall grasses, wildflowers, and berries. When you get to the top look for the green trail. At the green trail, turn right. You have reached the Emerald City!
Now you must pass the gates into the Emerald City. Follow the green trail until you see a small bridge. Cross the bridge and stand at the opposite edge. Now look up the hill straight in front of you. Climb up under low Mountain Laurel, Hemlock trees and bright green moss. Before you reach the top find the letterbox behind a large rock under some leaves. The wizard has sent you on a mission to the witch's castle. Turn back to the red trail.

The Castle of the Wicked Witch of the West
The Wizard has sent you to capture the magic golden cap of the Wicked Witch. Turn right onto the red circle trail. This is a trail of large rocks over wet land. If you make it to the blue trail, turn left. It is a dangerous climb to the castle. The witch has set many traps to trip you up along the way. Test your endurance on this mission! Now tnat you have arrived. Stand with the castle to your back, facing the green lawn, the blue trail continues to your left. Walk across the grass to a path. Walk onto the path a few paces and look to left. There is a felled tree with the roots pointing up. The box is behind the root under a rock.
Congratulations! You have captured the magic golden cap!
Now you must find your way home.
