San Leandro (or Saint Leander) seems to have come from an exceptionally pious and well connected family. After they emigrated from Carthage to Seville, he became bishop of that city. Both his brother (Saint Isidore and Saint Fulgentius) also became bishops, while his sister Saint Florentina directed forty convents and one thousand nuns.

This letterbox is hidden in Chabot Park in San Leandro on Estudillo Avenue.

In honor of this Hispano-Roman saint, I offer the clue in Latin:

Delapsus de colle ad ferream ungulam inspice magnos truncos dextra. Est acra in trunco ante tectam toxicodendro arborem.

(Aram Garoghlanian was kind enough to translate this clue into Latin. Thank you so very much!!!)
