"We run because we are beautiful and we are beautiful because we run"

This box is dedicated to the beautiful seniors of the Shepaug Girls Cross-Country team of 2005 ~Kaitlyn, Carol, Katie, Lauren, Jess, Sarah~
They have led our team to many victories and provide it with love, team spirit, and positive energy. We love them and will miss them so much next year. This box is a tribute to these six amazing girls and their contribution to the Shepaug Cross-Country team!

-Your quest today brings you to the banks of the Shepaug River in Washington, CT. For easy access to a great running spot, park your car in the lot of the steep rock preserve. This lies on River Road. If you follow Rt. 47 to the center of Washington, River Road lies immediately next to Park’s drug store. The parking area will be on your left. Pull in and park the car by the riding ring.
-This is where you begin your quest to find this letterbox.
-Keeping the river close to your left go to the back of the parking lot. Find the padlocked wooden gate and look for "No Horses...No Bikes"
-Don't stay on the Shepaug Greenway, make sure not to follow the green arrows...careful its tricky! Stay to the right
-Continue up the hill keeping the river below you and to the left, watch out for the quartz rocks.
-At the top of the hill take a right, avoiding the red house above you. Stay right and pass through the old farm gate.
-Continue straight; just to check if you’re on the right track look behind you for a NO HORSES sign.
-Keep a look out for the tall rock fortress on your left
-Stay left on the trail, keeping an eye on the entrance to the stone house.
-Take a right and go two by two between two trees and two rocks onto a concrete pathway. -You will see a stack of stones to your right.
-Stay close to the GREAT WALL and continue straight.
-Look out for the moss three, turn and see the "Ode to 05'"
-Continue on and take an immediate right behind the wall, take a second sharp right, keeping the pipe to your left.
-Enter the channel and look on a panel. Don't repair the holes in the wall or something will fall...Your treasure awaits!
"Fast Girls have Good Times"
Thank you Seniors! We will always remember you!
~To get back to the parking lot an alternative and more scenic route take a right out of the house and continue strait...at the opening take a right and you'll be back!~
