THIS LETTERBOX HAS BEEN ARCHIVED ON GEOCACHING.COM

Look for a sculpture by Artist Pete Ryan of Hope BC. All you need to do is drive by and spot it with your Eagle Eye. It is at the intersection of Brechin Road one of the roads to the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal and the old Island Highway 19A in Nanaimo. For the directions to work you should be heading North on 19A the old Island Highway.
Look for a road that leads to a field in the North and turn on to it. There is only one way you can turn. Follow this road until you see another Pete Ryan Sculpture. Go and park near it.
Stand by the sculpture and look in the direction the scupture is looking. You will see a giant metal f. This is the direction you must head crossing the highway at the light.
When you get to the walk signal switch on the other side of the highway look along your heading and you will see a notch in the rock that could have been made by a giant beak. Make your way to the notch and stand at the point.
Look away from the highway along your heading and you will see a long needled pine tree. Walk along the rock past the tree and look to your right. In the middle of a field of grass and broom you will see a clump of trees.Head towards the trees and beyond until you come to a path. Look to you left and in the distance you will see a lone Arbutus tree. Walk towards it. The path curves around the tree and continues. Keep walking don’t be nervous you’re almost there. Watch the trees on the left of the path and when you see a fir tree that is three times as tall as its companion arbutus trees. Walk 10 steps past the fir and turn and face the highway. You should see two stumps about two feet high covered in moss. Which one is right?

Good luck and have fun. If you find it you definitely have an ‘Eagle Eye’
