The Brothers of Coastal Lodge #57 have allowed me to place these two boxes here as a way to bring the fraternity more into the community and I am grateful for the opportunity. Coastal Lodge was formed by the consolidation of the former Charity and Relief Lodge in Mystic, the former Pawcatuck Lodge in Pawcatuck and Asylum Lodge in Stonington. To commemorate its first anniversary, October 16, 2005, I commissioned two stamps to be made. The first is the Lodge stamp which shows the lodge logo and website address. The second is the Child ID Program (CHIP) stamp which shows the CHIP logo and its website address. It is our wish that after stamping in, that my fellow letter boxers will go to these two websites and learn more about both the lodge and the CHIP program.

Rated: Very Easy / Drive By
Less than 1/4 Hour.
All Level Ground
Bring your own inkpad for your stamp. These two stamps are pre-inked.

To Find the Boxes:

To get to Coastal Lodge, take I-95 to exit 91. If traveling north, continue straight at the traffic light onto Pequot Trail. If traveling south, turn left. Continue to the traffic light & turn left onto Pequot Trail. Drive east approximately ½ mile; the lodge is on the right.

Turn into the parking lot and park towards the left side of the building.

To begin your search, start at the front of the lodge. Go approximately 35 paces to where the fire no longer burns.

The CHIP letterbox is at 090 approximately 33 paces behind the rock in the shape of the state Connecticut.

Now form the hypotenuse approximately 55 paces. Below the 1933 is the Lodge letterbox.

After stamping in, please take care to re-hide these two letterboxes well.

Thank you and Happy Letterboxing!
