***THIS IS MY FIRST PLANTING ****

You're headed for Topsail Hill Preserve, 1640 acres of pine forest, freshwater coastal dune lakes, and 3.2 miles of pristine beach.

Off U.S. Hwy 98, turn south on Topsail Road between dawn and dusk. If you don't have an annual pass, it's $2 a car, plus $1 a person, honor system. Stay on the straight, main road, parking where the road dead ends.

Head for the beach, through the railings. Immediately on the right is a picnic shelter. Stand at the southwest corner of the shelter and look for the Gulf, facing that direction.

Walk left (due South) 20 paces toward the large fallen, twisted pine. At the base, in a cranny lies the prize. Please rehide carefully.
