Update: Assumed destroyed due to Hurricane Katrina

In the state of Louisiana, there is a museum that houses the famous jeweled Imperial Lilies-of-the-Valley Basket, circa 1896, by Peter Carl Fabergé. If you have time, visit the museum and enjoy the magnificent works of art contained within. Alternatively, you can continue on your search past the museum and to the mall in honor of the man who introduced Fireside Chats to all Americans. Continuing on the right side of this mall, you will pass two symbols of liberty. Stop at the first stone bench past the track. Sit for a minute and enjoy the spectacular trees in the park, but be wary of coons. There is a large tree directly behind you. On the far side of this tree in a crevice disguised by palms, you will find your prize.

This is a public place, please be discrete and re-hide carefully. If anyone gets suspicious, tell him or her you are conducting a tree survey (they tend to buy that one!). I am not likely to be able to check up on this box, so I would love to hear from folks who go looking for it. Also, if a local would like to be a foster parent, it would be greatly appreciated.

The standard disclaimer of caution applies and please note that there are other letterboxes nearby.
