Please Note: This letterbox is OUTSIDE the Sequoia National Park boundaries.
As of 9/2012 this box is still in place, but it's lonely!
Revised on 8/1/07:
On Hwy. 180 between Grants Grove and Cedar Grove is a Royal Campground. Pull in on the road past the campground hosts and follow it to the end where there is a small parking lot and outhouse. Take the path that is straight ahead. Follow it until you see a bench and an unpaved path veering to the left, over a bridge. Go left. The path will wind around, passing another bench and ending in a "T". directly to the left is a bench. Have a seat and enjoy one of the most beautiful meadows in the world. Look at 10:30. You will see a large stump. Walk around to the back side and look in the large cracks until you find what you're looking for.
If you want an even more beautiful view, continue up the path about 100 feet to a large rock that overlooks the meadow.
