Thousands of people travel to Shoshone Falls each year to marvel at the sight many people call the Niagra of the West. Shoshone Falls tumbles 212 feet to the canyon floor-more than 50 feet farther than the famous falls on the New York-Ontario border.
The park boosts viewing platforms, a gift shop, picnicing, hiking and swimming at near by Dierkes Lake. The volume of water is greatest during spring run off before much of the water from the Snake River is diverted to irrigate the Magic Valley during the summer months.

**There is a small day use fee to enter the park.

Directions to the park: Travel time from I-84 is approx. 20 minutes.
From I-84, take the Hwy 93 exit south to Twin Falls. Cross the amazing Perinne Bridge (watch for base jumpers, it's legal here) and contine into town. Hwy 93 is now Blue Lakes Blvd. Follow Blue Lakes to Falls Ave. and turn left (east). Continue on Falls Ave. for three miles. From there, follow the signs north down into the canyon. Follow the road to the main viewing platform and park there.

To the box: Ascend the stairs behind the rest rooms and gift shop. At the top you will find a grassy knoll. From the top stair, find the juniper at 300 degrees. In the wall behind the tree, low and behind a rock sits the box.

Happy hunting! Would love to hear from you when you find it and report it's condition.
