LbNA Website: www.letterboxing.org
- Policy: The list is not moderated. Non-members may not
post but may read the archive (I would prefer to allow non-members to
post, but some felt the spam was unbearable). The topic of the
list is the pastime of letterboxing. The group is loose and easy
going; related off-topic ok within reason.
- Clue Posting Protocol: Clues (or links to them) should be posted to
the list, not the webmasters, in case the webmasters are slow, and so
that the clue is archived (unless you don't want this). Clues (or
links) will be posted to the web site unless you direct otherwise.
It is preferred that you set up your clues on your own web site, and
simply post a link.
Note that the webmasters have requested that the state, county and
nearest town be included with your clue or link post, except for
mystery clues, of course. Including this information is optional,
but unless including it would compromise your clues, it is considered
good etiquette to do so. Clue authors own and retain all rights
to their clues.
- Spoilers: Posting solutions or discussing how to solve
specific clues is a breach of letterboxing etiquette, as is
describing how you found a box so that it is easier for someone
else. Don't do this on the list. Don't post "spoilers" obscured
by whitespace.
- Regional ("State") Posts: Some postings may be of interest
only to those in a particular state or region. For example, those
on the west coast may not be interested in a new clue posting in
Rhode Island. Please put the state abbreviation (e.g. RI) in
the subject line of these posts.
- Technical Questions: Technical questions about the list,
your subscription, or missing e-mail should go to the managers
(see above) or support@egroups.com.
Problems or questions about the web site or your clues on the web
site should go to the webmasters (see above). The list is generally
not interested in these questions.
- Etiquette: Refer to
RFC 1855 if you are interested in "netiquette".
