Wild Flower
James Madison University Arboretum
University Blvd, Harrisonburg, VA
Easy, .5 mile nature trail.
Placed 4 April 2002.
Also check out the clues for The Stargazer.
From I-81 exit 247 (U.S. 33)
Head East on U.S. 33 to the light at University Blvd. Turn right.
The Edith J. Carrier (JMU) Arboretum is on the left.
Pull down into the parking area. Start by looking for signs which will lead you to the John Clayton Trail. There are several ways to get back to the start so take your
pick. Once on the trail, you will soon cross one bridge then another. After the second bridge, bear left to a "T" in the trail. Go left at the "T" and then pass "MM
250". Continue on the main trail and stop at "MM 375". Standing on the trail, in front of the tree that is to the left of "MM 375", take a bearing of 015°. Head for the
right end of the log that is about 10-12 steps away. Inside, behind some bark and leaves, you will find the Wild Flower letterbox. Continue along the John Clayton
trail back to the parking lot.
