Upon seeing the Kalmia Sanctuary road sign, drive up the dirt road to the Audubon Parking area on your right.

1 – From the Kalmia Kiosk, head uphill, on the green trail, towards the sign for the butterfly garden. You’ll pass a large boulder on your left and some fallen trees. At the sign for the trail loop and the butterfly garden go left onto the trail loop at the green bench. Keep walking straight on the trail with the green blazes until you come to a three-way intersection, take a right. You’ll see a tree that has fallen across the path and been cut away, notice the tree that it has fallen on top of. Look around the base of the first fallen tree for a large flat top rock on top of two limbs. There you will find the owl in his hallow.

2 - Keep going on the trail. It will start to go downhill towards a blue house in the distance. Look for a sign that says Trail loop. Continue on the green trail. Follow the signs to the right. You’ll come to an intersection of the green and yellow trail. Continue on the green. Come back out to the field and take a left. You will see butterfly garden sign pointing downhill. Continue down to the butterfly garden, sit and enjoy it. Take a left on the yellow trail back into the woods. Continue on the yellow trail into the woods until you see a rock wall on the right. Follow the trail until you come to the point where it leads you to cross over the rock wall, before you cross it, look up the hill to your left for a four sister tree with one dead sister. There you will find the Eastern Bluebird box.

Continue on the yellow trail to exit back to the Audubon Parking Lot.
