Distance to Letterbox: 10 to 14 miles, depending on your route.
This box is located at the top of the Smokeys, on LeConte Mountain. Pick your best route up. We went up Rainbow Falls trail. Best views are before the summit.
Directions:
Depending on your trial, you will have to get your on directions to parking for the trail you choose.
To the Letterbox:
Clues start from The LeConte Lodge (where main two trail have merged and reach the lodge. Continue past lodge and go up another .5 miles. Your will come to open views off to your right. Soon after this, look for a large pile of rocks in the trees to the right. This is the summit of LeConte. Once you have your picture, go back to the trail, turn left to head down and go 5 steps. Go right off trail on faint path for 12 steps. Look to the right for 2 small trees close together. Box is between them, at base, under a flat rock.
Hike length: 8+ miles
