Park in the Truxtun Park Boat Launch parking area on Truxtun Park Road. This lot is free unless you are launching a boat. Head to the back right corner of the lot (near the strange concrete sculpture). Take the small trail to the right of the strange sculpture leading down and then up to the picnic pavilion (Pavilion 1).

At the pavilion, turn left and take the wide mulch path into the woods. Soon you will reach a clearing. Find the bench at Lookout Point and enjoy the view of Spa Creek. Take the last two digits of the year that Lookout Point was restored and multiply that number by the number of “E”s in the last name on the bench. You should end up with a 3-digit number. From the bench, walk 40 steps at a bearing of [3-digit number] degrees. Take the trail to the right.

Soon, you will pass a decaying asphalt path on your left and CABLE CROSSING on your right. Look for a small hairpin trail that leads up and back on your left. Walk 20 steps on this trail to a U-shaped tree, where Ginkgo 1 is resting.

Return to the main trail and continue with the water on your right. Pass a black drain and climb steps made for giants. High-step it over a web of roots on the trail. Soon you will descend a gentle hill. At the bottom, continue on the trail with the water on your right and cross over a small bridge. Continue along the creek for a while.

After you descend a wide, steep slope, look for a two-trunked tree off the left side of the trail. Ginkgo 2 waits within.

To complete your loop to the car, continue on the trail up the “ladder” of roots. Soon, see a smaller root ladder on your left and take this trail out. At the “Colonial Annapolis Maritime Trail” sign, turn left and head down a wide trail, passing the blue shed on your right. This trail ends where your journey began.

Total hike length: 0.85 mile loop.
Truxtun Park is open from sunrise to sunset. Please follow all Annapolis City Park regulations.
