Difficulty: Easy, but be VERY CAREFUL on bridge
Distance to minibox: about 50 yards
Great old iron bridge that use to be the main bridge of Main street heading out of Bastrop. This is not the big bridge in town, but an old forgot bridge!!!
Directions:
From Hwy 21 & Hwy 95 intersection, head out of town Passing Fairview Cemetery on your right. In about a mile, turn left on Old McDade Rd. Turn left on Main street, and go until bridge over creek. Cross bridge, then pull off on right in grass to park (you could see the iron bridge on right while crossing the new bridge).
To the Mini-box:
Walk on faint path to the bridge. Cross over, but be carful!!!!. On far side, where left upper part of bridge comes down to base, you will find the box just off the left side of the bridge, where metal of upper bridge meets the concrete support.
Return back over the bridge.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
