This letterbox was placed during the 2019 Waukesha Sustainability Fair at the Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha, WI. As part of the fair, I volunteered to display my electric vehicle, a 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV, and be available to talk about the benefits of driving an all-electric vehicle. If you want to know more about the benefits of driving electric and how much I love it, send me a message via AQ Mail and I'll tell you all about it. Because I was here to show off my "green" car, I felt it only fitting to leave behind a green car for others to enjoy as well. The Dramagoons have been to this park many times in the past but usually only in the winter to go snowshoeing.

My Green Car
To find "my green car" start at the Trailhead #1 sign between the parking lot and the nature center. Take the path just to the right of the sign and follow it as it travels in a westerly direction past the nature center. Pass through the open area still heading west and going downhill, crossing a tractor road, and into the woods. Travel over the boardwalk/bridge and up the winding uphill trail to a Y intersection. Go left at the intersection, this will put you on the red trail. Continue over a boardwalk until you come to the intersection with the green/purple trail (911 Locator Sign RNC 5). Go right and follow the green/purple trail. As you travel along this trail there will be six boardwalks/bridges of various lengths in addition to the first one at the intersection. When the purple trail breaks off to the right at the end of the fourth boardwalk, be sure to keep heading down the green trail (For a nice detour, feel free to take the purple trail up past the apple orchard to a raised platform overlooking Retzer Creek. This overlook is breathtaking, especially in winter). At the end of the sixth boardwalk/bridge, you will start to head up hill. As you are heading up hill, you will come upon an intersection on your left. This is the black trail. Follow it as it also goes up hill. At the first Y intersection, go left following the black trail into the stand of pine trees. Pass the bench on the right with the brass "In Memory Of Kroening" plaque. Just ahead on the right side of the trail will be a post with a black line on it. From the post take a bearing of 98 degrees. There will a tree directly ahead of you and behind it you will see a two-trunked tree just up the hill about 15 steps at the edge of the woods. "My Green Car" is hidden under a rotten log and some sticks just behind that tree. Please re-hide the box well when you are done stamping in. You can return to the parking lot by going back the way you came or continuing along the black trail until it merges with the red trail which takes you back to the nature center.

You will need a light green inking pen for this stamp.
