We were on the hunt for places to plant three boxes in our next three States to add to out plant list. We have done three boxes at a Tri-State marker before and thought that would be cool to do again. We found that the three States that we were about to plant in do have a marker near Markleysburg, PA. We did some more research and found a couple of roads that looked like they might work. We drove to the best looking of the two and by the time we got close to the marker it seemed we were in somebodies driveway. We stopped and talked to the home owner and he was pleasant enough to let us walk over to the marker and he told us that we would not have been able to drive any closer from any other way and we did not see any good parking at the other locations that you might have been able to walk from. So plan “B” was put into action, three new locations, one plant in each of the States.

In the town of Bruceton Mills WV there is another cemetery, Shady Grove, that is our next stop along the way. The cemetery has a couple of roads in it. You want to drive along the one closest to North Preston Highway (RT26). Drive to the West end of this road and park near the four metal posts with the chain along the top. You are looking for a cluster of four cedars with “Fike” inside. As you approach check the first one on the right at about head height. Pay attention to how it is held in place and try your best to put it back the same way.
