Start on the Oak Leaf Trail by the intersection between Charles Hart and Menomonee in Wauwatosa. From there locate the Dogi Pot station, and proceed to the dirt trail near the river directly behind it. Take the trail to the left and follow it along the river. You will walk past a bank of white rock, and further on a culvert with water flowing into the river surrounded by large stones. About 35 paces past the culvert you will come to a multi-trunked tree next to the river. From that tree, you will see a fork in the trail ahead of you--take the trail to the left. About 30 paces from the fork in the trail, take the next fork to the right. Walking along this trail you will come to a tree on the right (along the river) with a bird house on it (this tree is about 85 paces from the second fork in the trail--incase this birdhouse is not here to stay!) While standing near the this tree, take a bearing of 300 degrees to the trunk of a fallen tree. The box is located within this tree trunk. It may be best to retrace your steps along the main trail to get to the tree trunk. Please re-cover with bark and leaves.

Hike length: 1 mile
