This letterbox is part of the GO and Build a Better World! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 3, 2017 to August 20, 2017. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Build a Better World! program requires you to search for up to 30 “landmarks” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please use a colored pencil or crayon to carefully rub the impression onto your GO and Build a Better World! rubbing sheet, available for free at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at John C. Rudy County park and may be accessed from the Pines Picnic parking area. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate.

- Starting from the Pines Picnic parking lot, walk to the bathroom.
- Walk behind the bathroom and continue along the paved tree-lined path.
- Continue walking along the paved path for about 250 yards. You will come to an intersection in the trail. There will be a bathroom off to the side of the intersection. At this intersection make a right and continue along the paved path.
- As you walk out the paved path there will be 3 pavilions located to your left, and trees located to your right.
- Once you walk past the last pavilion (Blue Bird) make a left and start to walk uphill on the grass trail.
- At the top of the hill, the trail will enter the woods. Continue until you come to an open grass pipeline. Here is where you will find the post.
- Continue following the trail along the pipeline and back into the woods.
- You will walk across the hilltop and reach a paved road. Make a left at the road.
- Walk down the road and over a speed bump, and follow the trail back into the woods.
- Continue until you come to a field opening, then turn right and head down the hill.
- At the bottom of the hill there will be a road. Look both ways and carefully cross the road. Make a slight right and walk to the yellow gate.
- Continue walking past the yellow gate and follow the paved path straight back to your vehicle.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
