Walk difficulty: Very easy
Walking distance: less than 0.1 mile one way
Stamp hand-carved
This stamp was carved by Milk Money and was part of her Laguna Dam Revisited Series which is now retired. She graciously gave me permission to adopt the letterbox
This box is in lassoloC evaC niatnuoM kraP southeast of Tucson. From I-10 take exit #279 and drive northeast/east on Vail Road/Colossal Cave Road. Continue on Pistol Hill Road. Turn right on Old Spanish Trail. After passing the entrance booth, continue straight almost to the end of the road. Turn left on the road to the ranch headquarters and drive to the red caboose. Park on the opposite side of the road (north side) in the trailhead parking area.
Walk north on the Path of the Ancestors Trail. Continue past Marker 3. Stay left at fork in trail. In a short distance the trail will make a sharp left turn. Continue for 8 more steps. Look left and walk about 8 steps to a trio of Yucca plants. The box is behind the left one at its base under single flat rock covered with some twigs and plant debris
Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp and book are in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
Contact me if the box needs attention or is missing: http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/azroadie.html
This box is in honor of the friendly goats in the nearby petting zoo – go visit them.
