Hudsonville Nature Center is a beautiful 76-acre nature preserve, with wonderful trails, scenic overlooks, and hardwood forest. Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of New Holland Street.

CLUES:

Head west on the cement path and choose to follow the Creekside Path. At the Y, stay right. Follow the path along the creek, passing a double wooden fence on your right.

At the trail map post, carefully cross the bridge (keep an eye out for any wandering trolls) and then up 37 where you can rest and enjoy the view. When rested, continue up the path. At the trail map sign, left is not right.

Don't need to rest here.....go carefully down and across the wide expanse (again keeping an eye out for those wandering trolls). Wood and tree feet will help get you back up where you need to be. At the next choice, left is right. You will pass another resting spot on your way to the next choice and trail map.

Right is wrong. Pass through the tangled vines forest and listen for horseless carriage sounds as you travel along. Wow......a clearing full of grasses and now a grassy path. See that lookout over yonder?? Head that way! Keep going......go check it out. Seems like a pretty nice area to catch the breezes and fly a kite....but where's our troll??

Standing with your back to the bottom of the steps, go back down the grassy path, ignoring the wide entrance immediately to your right. Take the next opportunity to enter the forest though. 26 steps up the path you will see a 2-trunker at 310 degrees. Tucked at the base you'll find our Kite-Flying Troll.

Continue north up the trail. 2 slight left curves, then right at the choice unless you want to stop at the beautiful scenic overlook. You'll soon see the parking lot on your right.

I hope you enjoyed your hike. Please be discreet, clean the stamp, repackage the letterbox so it stays moisture proof, and rehide well. And, please log in to update me on the status of the box. Thanks!

Hike length: 0.5 miles
