Your journey begins at Lions Den Gorge outside of Port Washington and Grafton. This series was inspired by the fantastic views of Lake Michigan. This park is situated along the bluff and onto the beach. Follow the park drive to the last parking circle. It's a loop so pick any spot available in this area. Your trail is off of this lot. Start at main lions den trailhead. It starts with a long plank walk. Once the plank walk ends you will see the park closed 9pm-6am. Continue on this crushed stone walkway. Take the first right into the wood chip gentian trail. Where the trail makes a y go straight ahead towards the bluff. Take a right. Take a seat at the Bench. Go to the warning sign. Follow the trail to cluster of trees. Look behind the tree farthest away from the bluff in this group. Box #1. OceAns sister.
Head back to bench and stay on trail that hugs the bluff. When the wood chip trail emerges follow it right. A bench and large trail sign will appear. Go right towards the bluff. You will see a picnic area. Make sure to stay behind fence. Stay on bluff trail. Say hi to Erik Malka. His memorial bench is on your left. When you get to the trail fork stay on the bluff trail it will be to your right. A cluster of trees will be in the middle of the trail. Walk
Until you cross a small bridge. Directly to your left after crossing look for a 5 trunked tree. Look in its center to sail away. Box #2.
Take the trail until you come to the bluff vista. Follow this trail to the bluff. Have a seat on the bench. This is Rex Borgenhagens spot. Notice the small trail behind this bench? Walk it to the small tree to your left. The light house is at its base. Box #3
Head back to the bluff trail and follow It to your right. When you see the next bench and trail sign head right and stay on the bluff trail. When you get to tree that professes E + M and talks sailor talk about Haley you are getting close. When you get to the tree that has a carving of a chicken leg or
Fish you at even closer. Keep walking. You will see another sign. Continue on this trail to the stairs. Cross the bridge. Take a right towards the stairs. Go down stairs. Head over bridge and onto path towards beach. After 5 stone steps take first path to your right. It will wind you around in a circle. When you see the cluster of trees to your left. Look to its base. Lake Michigan light house. Box #4. Stamp Up and rehide. Now go check out this beautiful beach!!!
