**As of 7/29/13, this box has been retired.**

The newest round of the box of the month is under way...

It is still the same idea- a new box every month for the year, from a different carver around the United States. The box will be in place from ~ the 1st through the ~25th each month-depending on weather, the mail etc. The final box (my own) will be permanently placed at the final location.

This year I am doing it a little differently. You will not be going to the same location each month for the new box, but rather the same trail and starting from different locations. The trail will be the Airline Trail. It runs through Lebanon and has many road crossings. Each month I will start you from a new crossing and head to a different spot on the trail.

So, for the sixth letterbox in this series, make your way to the Airline Trail crossing on Cook Hill Road in Lebanon. Park off of the road and head SOUTH on the trail.

Head around the yellow gate.

You will walk along with swamp of either side of you.

This is actually a gorgeos section of trail to do in light rain. The colors just seem to come alive. Be sure to wear bug spray as they are very hungry here!!!

You will come to a spot that has cut logs on both sides of the trail.

From here proceed 85 steps to a four sister tree on your right. One of the sisters is much smaller than the others.

Look right, off trail to see a good size rock at the bottom of an embankment. Just above this, on top of the embankment is a good size tree. Look behind that tree for the Lewenhart letterbox by Mazy Days of TX.

This is an amazing carve and not to be missed.

Please be sure to hide the box well when you are done. It has many more stops to make before it gets home and back to its owner.

Thanks,
Flutterby
