CFB Kingston is located just east of the city of Kingston. From the 401 exit hwy 15 and head south on 15 to the base. You will enter the base off hwy 15 turning left into the mcnaughton barracks through the main gates on Craftsman

This series is a trip down memory lane for me. My father was in the Canadian Armed Forces and this was his last posting before retiring after more than 20 years service. Children of these servicemen were called army brats. Thats me, an army brat and proud of it.

Box 1 Army As soon as you turn on Craftsman pull over before even entering the base and park on the side of the road behind the big CFB Kingston sign. This letterbox is on the gun. Stand in front of gun the lb is hidden behind centre support under gun barrell.

Box 2 Grenade Continue through the gates on Craftsman to Sadie. Turn left on Sadie, you will pass the JR's (a watering hole for the junior ranks, where my mother worked for more than 20 years as secretary) continue on Sadie past Entretien it will curve to the right but you will turn left on gravel road to OP Stark Park in front of structure. The lb is at the corner of the fence on the ground just inside the fence. (Just stamp no logbook)

Box 3 Tank Continue on Sadie to Craftsman. Turn left on Craftsman to Givenchy. Left on Givenchy and left into parking lot just past the tank. Stand in front of the tank. The lb is hidden on the right tracks, just reach in and up on the left side of this right track.

Box 4 Rifle Return to Craftsman and turn left. Continue straight on Craftsman past Health Care Centre and turn right into its back parking lot. Park in the NE corner. Cross the street to the parking lot. The firing range is just past the treed area(from your car you can see if there is a red flag flying which means there are people firing on the range...we will be staying out of their aim so no worry)Head to the little treed area, lb is in the second cluster of trees you get to, hidden in the crouch under some twigs and grass.

Box 5 Whiskey Island This letterbox is a bonus Not really related to the base but has a little history. Return to Craftsman, turn right and continue to lights at hwy 2. Cross hwy 2 and you are now entering Vimy barracks where the PMQs (private married quarters) are. Turn right on Caen, before going through gate. Turn left on Canal du Nord and then Right on Lundys Lane...More memories we lived on Lundys Lane Continue down to 2 white churches on right and splash park on left. Turn left on Queenston Heights and left again into parking lot and then an immediate right onto gravel road to the water. Park in parking lot of Yacht Club. Deadmans Bay is infront of you Cartwright Point across the bay. The bigger island is Cedar Island which has a murney tower on it, you can see its red roof and the little island between is wiskey island which was used as an illicit trading location for liquor during prohibition history lesson over now to the letterbox. Walk down gravel road to the end, you will see a no parking sign, go around to the right of this sign, there is a sm tree in front of you Lb is at the base of this tree under some rock. if you are unfamiliar with the base you can exit by returning to lundys lane, turn left continue to niagara park, turn right on niagara park to lights at hwy 2, left will take you to hwy 15 and back to 401
