Level of Difficulty: Easy clues & Drive-by, but if you get carsick from driving on curvy roads, you might not want to seek this one out. Seven miles off the highway, but part of the drive is on curvy roads.
Directions: From Highway 101 take the Gilroy exit with signs to the Coyote Lake Reservoir County Park. Travel east off the Highway and pass the outlet stores and follow signs to the Coyote Reservoir the entire way. Turn left on New Ave. Right on Roop Road and wind around until you take a left on Coyote Lake Road.
Clues:
G-o a third of a mile on Coyote Lake Road.
A-nd stop on the left side of the road at the hairpin turn.
R-eally this is what has made the town of Gilroy famous.
L-ock your eyes on the white road marker and head 7 paces/14 steps to the right.
I-t is where you will find a pile of rocks.
C-an you smell the letterbox? Although China is more famous than Gilroy for growing this, I could not get enough of the smell as I drove through this town.
