There are two alternatives for finding this box.

One starting point is the entrance to Starkey Nature Park from the Nancy Burton Memorial Park in Zionsville. To reach this park, take 6th St. south from 334, then turn right at the T-junction with Starkey Ave. The parking lot is on the right immediately after going under the bridge. Head south to the disused railway bridge, then down the wooden rampway system; at the bottom on this ramp, the search begins. Kid and pet friendly, though there's sand and mud if it's been wet; this excursion can be quite a hike for the young, old, or no-longer-in-shape. When entering this way, use the following clues:

Butterflies Are Free

Gazing up with wonder to fill the eyes
With a crumbling creation from a far-gone time,
Turn the back, then stride ahead
Along sandy path on river's edge.
The first choice make to go straight on;
Then on the left to pass a bench.
The next choice make to take the left;
2 follow red, not green.
The pathway leads to, then through,
The shady tunnel made of trees
Bear left at the crossroads of 2 and 5;
Follow the path that becomes a road.
Find some hidden houses on the right,
On the left a spot to take one's ease.
Travel then the right-most way,
Past two invitations to a meadow left
And a place for a picnic on the right.
At the orchard, the final choice -
A large, split tree between two barns;
Reach inside and to the right,
And find it just as day follows night.

The second starting point is the parking lot of Starkey Park itself. To find it, take 6th St. south from 334, then turn right at the T-junction with Starkey Ave. Follow Starkey Ave. around until the entrance to the Sugarbush Hill subdivision appears on the left. Enter the subdivision then take the second left to reach the Starkey Park parking lot. This option would be fine with older kids but might be too arduous for younger ones or the elderly; there's a rather steep set of wooden steps which can prove very slippery in inclement weather. When entering this way, use the following clues:

Butterflies Are Free

Soaring cables show the way;
Follow these guides along the path,
Under a forest giant, toppled,
With one long arm still arching high,
Past a quiet resting spot.
The first choice make to take the right,
Still heeding guides that soar above.
Wind round feet of cement and steel,
Continue on until path's end
At a steep stairway built of wood.
Descend with care, to regain the path.
Bear right at the crossroads of 2 and 5;
Follow the path that becomes a road.
Find some hidden houses on the right,
On the left a spot to take one's ease.
Travel then the right-most way,
Past two invitations to a meadow left
And a place for a picnic on the right.
At the orchard, the final choice -
A large, split tree between two barns;
Reach inside and to the right,
And find it just as day follows night.

Congrats to the Boston Terrorists, first finders!
