Distance to Microbox: 50 yards
Status of Microbox: Alive and well on 8/1/09
****** Texas Winery Series ********
The Flat Creek Estate Winery microbox is located west of Austin at this fairly new winery. The facility is huge, with a bistro, large tasting room, and multiple other facilities. The staff is great. The wine: some of the best I have had in Texas!!! Try the Bubbly, and the Pinot Grigio is very good. And the PORT.....!!!
Directions:
From I-35, go west on Hwy 1431 toward Marble Falls. Pass Lago Vista and when you reach the small town of Travis Peak, turn left at sign for "winery" on Singleton Bend Rd. Turn left on Singleton Bend East and follow signs to the winery. Park and go in and Taste!!!
To the Microbox:
From the tasting room, exit the side doors onto the patio. Go to the right corner and walk down the path to the gravel roadway. Turn left and follow roadway (with garden on your left) toward the lake. Stop at the cedar tree on the right. The micro is in the middle of the trunks, about 2 feet up (Black tape).
