The box is still out - Sorry - I've been moving and it had to take second seat. I"ll try to get it back for spring.

This box is hidden on the Ethan Allen Homestead, in North End of Burlington, VT. Once you get to the Homestead, park in the museum parking lot. There is an Information Board next to the museum. Follow the path next to the information board towards the actual home.(This is enclosed within a fence.) Follow this path all the way past the fenced in area. At the end of the fencing, there is a sign leading you to the "Wetland Walk". Follow this path into the trees and down the small hill. At the end of this short path, there is a sign explaining the wetlands walk and a small picnic area. You can see the river directly in front of you. Take the trail to the left. Shortly down the path, there is a sign for the "Homestead Loop" and two directions, left and right. Bear Left. At the green bicycle path pole, start counting your steps. Count apprx. 80 paces and you will be at an area that is open a little more on the right side of the trail. (At the time of placement, there were large slate slabs there about 4' square. I don't know if they will end up getting moved, so don't rely on this as a landmark!) If you have walked the trail to where you are directly below the homestead house, you have gone too far. If you look into this area, there are trees that border the field on the other side. This is where the box is. The box is hidden under a slab of rock at the foot of grouping of trees. There are three medium size trees growing together and pointing straight and to the right and two or three smaller trees growing to the left. The rock slab is about 1' x2' and about 2" thick and wedged between these two groups and has absolutely no good reason being there other than to cover the box. Please send me a postcard when you find it!! There is no stamp pad in here, so bring your own. The area tends to get flooded, so it is pretty inaccessible during the winter and early spring, though others have been getting to it. Please make sure all the items are sealed tightly (the box flooded this spring, but most everything made it out alive.) Also, bring bug repellant. The mosquitoes are awful in the summer! Enjoy!!
