Before my mother passed away, my parents shared a beautiful memory in this place, and I would like to share it with you. "Doowelgne Kraportem" is chock full of local and national history. The historic "National Road" passes by the entrance (don't look down!), an historic limestone bridge with its original oak foundation dating from the 1800's will be seen on your hike, and you can read the earthy construct's role to prevent a recurrence of the devastating flood of 1913. As you wend your way down into the park, the lake is to your left. Pause to enjoy the view. If you want to break the rules, you can feed the ducks like Mom and Dad did, but it isn't recommended. Find the entrance to the purple trail that will take you to Patty Falls. Multiple trails start and overlap at the same junction. Remember: PURPLE. Walk to the falls and enjoy the view. As you leave the top platform, begin counting your steps. Stop at 30. You should see two large rocks to your right. At their junction beneath smaller rocks you will find this special memory. (It looks especially nice if you color it with colored pencils when you get back home.) **Be aware: Road through the area is ONE WAY, and it will exit onto a different road than you entered on, so use caution and/or a map to not get lost.**

Use stealth when retrieving, step away to stamp in and rehide carefully in the intended spot so it is not visible. No room for hitchhikers, and bring your own ink.
