Spring 2008
This is the first box in our Season's Series. We always go away for long weekend trips once every season. This is the area we went to in Spring 2008. Find out where we've been through the year, look for our next letterbox - Summer 2008 sometime in June.
This is an easy drive-by box. While looking for a place to plant this we accidentally placed it right next to a Geo box. In all the places we could have placed it and here was already another box, funny. Anyway .. we planted it else where.

This box is on Hwy 28
From Bryson City - Hwy 74 West to Hwy 28 North
You will pass:
Fontana Lake - Nantahala River
Almond
Ammonds Cove
1st turn off - $1000 fine for littering
Graham County

left lane ends

1st turnout with wood fence

About a mile further there will be a paved turnout with wood fencing - this is a fast turnout on a curve - look for it.
looking at the lake count 19 metal spikes from right to left. The box is hiding by the 19th spike. Please be discreet and rehide well.
If you are at the turnout with the wood fence and the large rocks, you went to far and are at the wrong turnout.
If you went to the Fontana Dam turnoff you really went to far but I would suggest taking the extra 5 minutes and go to the dam it's kind of a cool place. While you're at it go back to Fontana Village and get an ice cream at their Ice Cream Store/Cafe.
