I just wanted to carve a stagecoach is all :-)
Stagecoach trail is a beautiful drive from Galena to Warren, Illinois and I recommend if you want a scenic drive to go for it (it is also highlighted in Readers Digest book “The Most Scenic Drives in America 120 Spectacular Road Trips” pages 228 – 229).
Take Main Street through Galena (it turns into a one way) you will come to a stop sign, go straight to another stop sign turn right.
The road will elbow left then elbow right and about a mile down you will come to a park on the right pull into the first parking area.
Next to the pavilion is a large tree (the largest of the 3) walk to the medium sized tree to the southwest along the edge of the woods.
Now, there is a third tree in the woods that lines up perfectly with the first two trees. Walk to the third tree in the woods, you should still see the medium sized tree just outside of the woods and you will not see the large tree you started at (it will be hidden behind the middle tree).
Under the southwestern corner of a large piece of cement you will find a stagecoach awaiting you in a pill bottle.
Please be discrete.
