Roaring River State Park is a lovely place for camping and hiking. It is also a great place for you and your kids to catch some lunker trout.
Distance to box: approx. 1/2 mile
To find this box go to the Deer Leap trailhead at the NE side of the Hatchery Pond. Proceed up this trail to a sign indicating you go to the left for the Fire Tower Trail. Proceed on the Fire Tower Trail. You will hike about 1/2 mile to a Nature Center sign. The arrow on this sign pretty much points to the box location. It is a place a curious raccoon would reach into. Please rehide well with rocks and logs, etc. so it is not visible from the trail. For some more fun, proceed on the trail another mile to the actual Fire Tower. It is a neat place for a treetops picnic.
Please note, the first 1/4 mile of this trail is quite strenuous, but it levels out by the time you get to my box.
