From Route 4, Turn onto Locust Road. Pass the Fairgrounds, take third right onto Laurel Road. Go all the way to the end passing Reservoir Road on the left. You will see a sign for the Litchfield Hills Audubon Society's Kalmia. Across from a white house, there is a small parking area. If it’s full, there’s a second parking area a bit farther up along a rooted driveway. Allow just under an hour round trip.

From either parking area, continue along until you get to a metal gate. Just beyond it is a sign for the Roraback Wildlife Area. Take the sandy, washed out gully road to the left of the signboard, walk uphill. When it levels out there’s a stonewall to the left and some orange blazes (which will stay with you the whole way). Go downhill and when it levels out again look to the right for an old foundation. After this you might run into some wet areas with signs of ATV activity and an area of a few very old trees. Stay on the orange path avoiding all side trails until you come to several good size roundish boulders on the left. Standing (and this is a balancing act) on top of the last boulder (with a two sister tree for a companion) site 120 degrees to a very large fallen tree. Walk along the left side and look under (inside) the right finger. Please recover with lots of bark, those same ATV’s are around here as well.

Now for the new bonus clues. On your way back just before you descend the last hill to your car look left for a mossy ledge. Look at the base under a rock with many other rocks covering it. Thanks to the Woodland Paws for the heads up about the clear cutting going on.

Be sure to wear orange during hunting season.
Many thanks go to The Panda for sharing this location with me.
And to Gizz for carving the stamps.
