1/29/09 - Looks like this one may be missing. I can't get there to check it out so I'll leave it listed for a while.

Thanks for the new book.

The box is in the Pena Adobe/Lagoon Valley Reservoir area. It could probably be found in about 30 minutes.
Take the Pena Adobe exit off Interstate 80 east or west bound. Go into the park area. Pena Adobe is to the left. Straight ahead is the reservoir entrance. It is a fee area. Start toward the entrance but cut off to the small parking area on the left. No fee here.
Follow the trail straight ahead (with your back to the reservoir entrance kiosk) toward the adobe park. When you get to the end go right and across the bridge. Follow the road until you can cut down into the park and the lower road. Follow the 'course' to #12 then by the bridge head up the hill. Look for the big rock next to the second official pear tree (which is really an oak tree!!). Look for the prize where they meet and under a small pile of rocks.
