I realize this is a "fee" area, but anyone who spends enough time in the Adirondacks will eventually go up Whiteface. Please take your time and enjoy all of the views. For more information you can go to http://www.whiteface.com/newsite/

As you go up the mountain, pull off to the right at the turn off, just beyond elevation 3893. You will be parking in the Lake Placid turn. This is one of my very favorite places to "do" lunch - right out of a cooler!!

Start just before the road goes through the rock cut of the switchback. Stand at the last human placed boulder before the rock cut and sit back and enjoy the view in the rock chair.

Look left to see a huge natural boulder just in the vegetation. If you look under the north corner you will find what you seek.

Please be careful replacing, if it is not secured well, it could roll right off of the mountain!!
